Protein Cake Ball Recipe – Balls of Yum to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
Hey guys, welcome to “Don’t Get Burned”! This is a segment in which we turn the daunting “easy, healthy” recipes you see plastered all over Pinterest to life. We aren’t experienced cooks but we are experienced tasters. By rating the recipes on two separate scales, easiness and taste, we can help you determine if you should even bother testing it in your own kitchen.
Again this recipe isn’t found on Pinterest, but it is one that Ashley enjoys on almost a daily basis and is easy and healthy. Not to mention, it was basically made with bad cooks in mind. This recipe is only 6 ingredients and requires no cook time. It was found on a Facebook page as a Lady Boss Lean recipe, but when we tried to find it again we couldn’t.
We have scoured the internet and tried, what seems like, every protein ball that’s out there. Ever since Ashley found this protein ball, she hasn’t tried a single one since. If she needs something sweet, this recipe is her go to and, not to mention, you can meal prep these and they only get better when they sit in the fridge.
Now while Ashley makes this recipe all the time, Emily hasn’t made this recipe before so we offer two different views for you all! With all of that out of the way, let’s get into the review.
This recipe is about as easy as they come. It only takes 6 ingredients, of which you probably already have available to you. The most time consuming portion of this recipe is the chill time, which, if you’re in a time crunch, you don’t have to do. A quick sweet treat is crucial if you are craving sweets while trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This recipe is perfect for those times and we rate it a 1/10 on the easiness scale, which means you could even have a kid help you make them. Maybe sneak them into a cookie making date and boom, both you and the kids have a sweet treat for the holidays.
As for taste of these, we give them a 10/10. They are sweet and healthy, what more could you ask for?
They have honey, vanilla, and coconut flakes to sweeten them up, protein powder and oats to make them healthy for losing weight and gaining muscle, and peanut butter to hold it all together.
If you aren’t a big fan of coconut, don’t worry, we aren’t either! The good news is you don’t really taste it but by using sweetened coconut flakes, you add just a little bit more sweetness to the protein balls.
Without Further ado, here’s the recipe!
